Don’t mind me.
I’m just on a mission.

(Should be easy, right?!)

I’m here to change the legal industry for women and working mothers so that they feel prioritized, nurtured, and able to grow professionally and personally throughout their careers.

If you know, you know.

Let’s be honest. When it comes to how the legal industry supports women and working mothers, that support is practically non-existent! To salvage our careers, we’re forced to keep up with the crazy pace and be everything to everyone ... and it’s exhausting.

Unfortunately, I have first-hand experience.

In 2018 and nine months after my first daughter was born, I returned to work in BigLaw. I was excited to accept what I thought was a unicorn offer – a part-time, senior-level attorney position, leading a unique practice group.

A few weeks into the new role, "part-time" quickly turned into "full-time" 60+ hour work weeks and a toxic work environment. The worst part came a few months later when my male boss called me into his office and started yelling at me and berating me in front of a junior, male associate. He even went as far as to say "This is why I won’t take a chance on hiring attorneys ‘in your position’” – meaning, “I won’t hire part-time, working mothers who value a realistic work/life balance.”

That’s when I realized I was worth far more than this. The daily guilt I felt leaving my baby at home without me, or worse, being distracted by constant email notifications while I WAS at home, forced three realizations:

Now for the plot twist.

Lovely, right?

01.

I wondered if my male boss would’ve treated my junior male colleague in the same toxic, depreciating way. (Probably not!)

02.

03.

I wondered how many other women in law have felt the same way – alienated and alone. (I’ve since learned that there are many.)

I knew I had to make a change. Fast-forward past some big, bold life decisions, and I’m now a Corporate Partner at a global boutique law firm in San Francisco, plus the CEO of Ardent Life Design (and I couldn’t be happier)!

If you can relate, there’s good news:

You don’t have to keep juggling an overly demanding law career and family life. You can explore a new direction – whether that’s still within law or in an entirely new field – and live a life that fuels you instead of drains you.

LET’S CHAT

It goes back to my mission of changing the legal industry standards. But on a far more personal level, it’s showing you (and other passionate women in law) that you can design your life around your soul’s true purpose. It might mean taking a risk, but I’ll be there along the way to provide coaching, clarity, and community support to help you embrace what lights you up inside.

Yes, I realize that lawyers don’t always have the best reputation for being warm and fuzzy. But if you know me (which I hope you will soon!), you’ll know that I’m as down-to-earth as they get, and I have a BIG heart for helping women. It’s my very own, soul-aligned passion!

Why did I start Ardent Life Design?

After I completed my Bachelor of Arts degree in Boston, MA, in 2006, I was selected as a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar to attend the University of Cambridge, UK, where I completed my M.Phil degree in Law, Economics, and Policy. My love of learning motivated me to stay in the UK, where I continued my studies and completed my three-year intensive law degree at Cambridge. I graduated in 2010 with my BA (JD equivalent) in Law and worked for a US international law firm in London soon after. Fast forward a few years, I landed in California, where I completed my LL.M. Degree and began practising US corporate law.

On the coaching front, I’m a board-certified Magnetic Coach® trained in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), TIME Techniques, Emotional Freedom Techniques (NLP), Clinical Hypnosis, and Lifestyle Coaching. I’m passionate about using these holistic modalities to create bespoke coaching sessions for my clients, helping them get clear on their life’s true passion.
